Angie

Angie, lived near Cardiff growing up, and whilst she would have loved to have studied art, at 18 she found her passion in nursing. She trained and worked as a nurse between 1987 until 2010.

Moving to Norfolk in 1996, she married Chris a short while after. Then in 2010, Angie, had the hard choice in relinquishing her nursing registration, due to a long term autoimmune condition affecting strength, mobility and stamina. After a break to recover, she started studying fine art and creative techniques at college. The intention was for art to be a hobby, but this quickly evolved into her art being sold and exhibited.

Whilst exploring different mediums within art, Angie discovered Paper Cutting, the name Paper Story came from those first designs and the challenge to create a narrative within the work using the humble sheet of paper. Since then, Angie has gone on to exhibit throughout Norfolk and also teach a variety of different creative techniques. Exhibiting, is hard work, and physically challenging, when a shop space became available at Bawdeswell Garden Centre in 2018, she jumped at the opportunity, and saw this as the perfect chance to grow, as well as support other artists. You will often see Angie making samples for the shop, to help inspire others.

As Angie completed her teacher training in the 1990's she is able to provide structured adult workshops in a variety of different mediums and techniques within the shop.

 Chris

Chris, was born in Weybourne Norfolk. His grandmother was a music teacher, and taught him the Violin from the age of 4. He was offered a scholarship to the prestigious Chethams School of music in Manchester at the age of 11, he went on to specialise in the Viola and Piano. After leaving university, he opted for a complete change in direction, which led him to a long career with the RAF. Spending 22 working in logistics and education.

Chris joined the Paper Story partnership, to offer support to Angie and the growing business. He enjoys working in both the shop and dealing with all the logistics and deliveries. If visiting, you will usually find him working on Friday and Saturday. He is the first to admit he isn't an artist, and is even colour blind, but he has a great product knowledge and always happy to help.
