With a heritage stretching back to 1584, Hahnemühle is one of the world's oldest and most respected paper makers. Their watercolour papers are produced using traditional recipes, high quality raw materials, and pure spring water — combining centuries of expertise with modern innovation to create surfaces that bring out the very best in watercolour paint.

The Ranges

  • Harmony — a versatile, high-quality watercolour paper made from 50% cotton and 50% cellulose. An excellent all-rounder that delivers beautiful colour brilliance and smooth washes at an accessible price point
  • William Turner — a premium 100% cotton paper named after the master of watercolour himself. Exceptional pigment handling, outstanding durability, and a surface that rewards the most demanding techniques

Available Surfaces

  • Hot Pressed — smooth and hard, ideal for fine detail, illustration, and botanical work
  • Cold Pressed (NOT) — medium texture, the most popular choice and a superb all-rounder for most watercolour styles
  • Rough — heavily textured for expressive, gestural painting and dramatic granulation effects
